The St. John the Evangelist – St. Paul Proposed Pastoral Collaborative is one of 127 proposed pastoral collaboratives in the Archdiocese of Boston. (Please note these are proposals, so that pastoral staffs, councils and parishioners can discuss these and offer their insights and recommendations.)
Over the past several months, the Parish provided information to and solicited feedback from parishioners in a number of ways in order to prepare our response to the Archdiocese, which was due on May 1, 2012. The Parish bulletin and our Parish email list included numerous discussions on the proposal as well as invitations to provide input, and a new section of the Parish website was created with comprehensive information about the proposal as well as links to important information from APPC. Consultation meetings were held after all the liturgies on the weekend of March 24-25; a weeknight meeting was also held to accommodate those who were unable to be present at one of the weekend sessions. An online survey option was also provided, and email and paper responses were solicited as well; approximately 180-200 members of the parish community participated in the consultations (meetings and online responses.)
Information about the parish’s response to this proposal, as well as the report itself, can be found on the Parish Report to the Archdiocese on the Proposal page. The Criteria/Rationale for the Proposed Pastoral Collaborative page has more information about the proposed St. John – St. Paul collaborative, and the St. John Parish Pastoral Planning Group (PPG) page has important information from our own Pastoral Planning Group.
